Summary

Throughout the pages of this work an approach is made to death-related matters by means of the municipal ordinances of the town of Bilbao during the medieval period. Special attention is paid to the whole of the funerary ritual that followed death, and concretely to matters such as how a death was announced, the funeral cortege to the church, the place of burial as well as masses and post-mortem offerings.
