Summary

Some patterns of marital mobility on the population of a rural community (Valle de Salazar, Navarra) has been studied in this paper. In the period 1601-1977, origin of the consorts was registered for 7247 mates celebrated at Parish of Valley. The results of analysis shows that: 1)Mobility are greater for males over great distances, while are greater for females over short distances. 2) Marital distances shows a distribution not according with J model. Moreover, mean distances between consorts increases with time. 3) Degree of endogamy of the Valley decreases during XIX and XX centuries. However, endogamy is constant at the Parish level, as the relation with neighbourin Valleys. This assymmetry can be explained by the contrast between decrease of the pyrenean populations and increase of extrapyrenean.
