Summary

On 14th March 2012, Thomas Lubanga Dyilo, leader of the Patriotic Forces for the Liberation of Congo, became the first person convicted by the International Criminal Court. Lubanga will have to serve a prison sentence of 14 years for gathering, enlisting and using children under fifteen in combat between 1st September 2002 and 13th August 2003. Despite this sentence being a very important step for international justice, it has not been at all an overwhelming success.
