Summary

An analysis is made of the existing relationship between nutritional and biochemical aspects on one hand, and mental health on the other. A group of hospitalised patients in a psychiatry ward with acute bipolar dysfunctions is studied together with the alterations in lipidic and glucose profiles. The results obtained show the need for a study of physical health in mental patients.
