Summary

Since the 1940s, there was an extraordinarily important and well-thought out "sowing of current Basque culture", which was to be the link between the pre-1936 democratic society and the post-war period. Along with others, Antonio Valverde "Ayalde", the painter and illustrator, contributed to the weekly journal "El Bidasoa" from Irun, in both Basque and Castilian Spanish, with one hundred and fifty literary articles.
