Jose Luis Ansorena, from Maritime Navarre, initiated the Pamplona Olentzero taking the Lesaka Olemtzero as his model. Its beginnings were difficult in the Franquist Navarre of that period (authorities, Church, Diario de Navarra newspaper) but by overcoming all obstacles it has celebrated its 50th anniversary. ; Every 24th December over 80,000 people from Pamplona visit the Olentzero. Cities, villages, various quarters of Pamplona have their own Olentzero, impossible to substitute and in good health.
