Summary

After a short historical review that allows us to understand better the situation of superior music studies in Spain, we have fundamentally concentrated our attention on the situation of such teaching reference to the 1966 Decree, comparing this norm, in force until the beginning of the 21st century, with the Ley de Ordenación General del Sistema Educativo (Law on General Organization of the Educational System-L.O.G.S.E.), which started its enforcement reference to superior studies in the 2000-2001 course. This law is still lacking development in certain important aspects, such as, for example, the establishment of a common starting framework, in which to place superior music studies in a specific norm for this type of superior education institutions.
