Summary

We conceive heritage as a social construction where the memories and identities of different social groups can be represented. From this point of view, the heritage process is understood as a process where different social groups come together. The official procedures for the selection and analysis of heritage landscapes, in spite of using international documents that stress the importance of the local perceptions for the landscape diagnosis, normally do not analyse in depth this dimension. The report contains the methodology developed to integrate the local perceptions in the analysis of the heritage landscapes, presenting the results of the research and comparing different cases.
