Summary

The European Atlantic coast has gone, over the last twenty years, from having a long fishing tradition to steering towards a merely symbolic fishing industry that lives in a context of internal struggles and agreements with third countries. This article includes a revision of the EEZ Zones with a thirty-year perspective, which allows us to make questions on the matter. The article concludes with a global outlook on fishing within the European Union, with a confluence on market dynamics and their determination in terms of feasibility of fishing.
