Summary

In the hamlet of Torre some books were found among which there was a book of sermons written by Juan Cruz de Rentería. This book was not published, possibly because it was written in Basque. Furthermore, this particular variant of the Basque language is not related to any of the existing variants at that time. The most similar is that spoken in Gorliz, and it is therefore thought that the author was the abbot of Gorliz. Among other analyses, syntactic and morphologic analyses were carried out, in an attempt to clarify the use of particles, verbs, etc. and to relate it to the Biscay current of Basque language
