Summary
Historically, the activity related with iron has been an important part of the economy in Bizkaia. It is, however, in the mid nineteenth century when technical change and the initiative of various businessmen brings about the birth of the industrial bourgoisie, part of which is closely related to the life of the N.V. at Portugalete. This work deals with the Industrial Revolution through biographies, providing a different vision of the historical moment.
