Summary

The EI-SEV Media library was last 24th October with two objectives. The first is to serve as instrument for worldwide dissemination of the contents produced by the Basque Studies Society itself, as in the case of the Auñamendi Encyclopedia. The second objective of this media library is to serve as a means for favouring internal communication within Eusko Ikaskuntza. The projects assumed by the Media library are the digitalization of the Auñamendi encyclopedia, the elaboration of a Photographic Archive (there are 11.000 pictures that can already be consulted and 5.000 are pending catalogation and digitalization), electronic publications and several data bases. The Basque Studies Society has clearly opted for new technologies and in particular is determined to have an instrument that can spread its own productions and other important sets of information on Basque culture. The Media library is to be that instrument.
