Summary

Recognition of the continuous speech is one of the most important problems in the field of artificial intelligence though it has experimented a great advance over the last few years. In spite of all this, multi-speaker continuous speech systems are being developed, with a large range of vocabulary which is increasingly approaching natural language levels. Tasks such as dialogue and translation are also in a research phase. This article comments on the functions of the automatic speech recognition group at the University of the Basque Country
