Summary

The medieval city of Orduña shows a exemplary process of constitution in which its economic finality is the most important thing. Orduña´s commercial intentions determines a peculiar mrphological evolution. It is a town that has a map which is the result of different plannings. A coherent interpretation of them will show an urban regulation and some principles of rationality according to the medieval urbanism rules. Among these principles we point out the use of some archetypical tipologies and of a conceptual rationalism that reminds us of the categorical dimension of the town
