Summary

Resurrección María de Azkue promoted and cultivated narrative prose by means of his weekly journal Euskalzale (1897-1899). Far from limiting himself to being the mere driving force behind the journal, he also wrote pieces of narrative prose. Some of these pieces are published in various publications: one of them was published by the monthly journal La Abeja (1889-1890), the rest were published in Euskalzale. Lenengo irakurgaia, Bein da betiko (1893) and Ardi galdua (1918) were published in book form, while Latsibi remained unpublished.
