Summary

The objective is to distinguish between "custom" and "rite". Christmas ritualised actions within the Basque cultural field are analysed, distinguishing their various purposes. As a result, there is a proposal of adaptation consisting of overcoming magic - religious or social intentions, emphasising in its place the identity and aspects, in such a way that there is a balance between reasons and purposes, benefiting our cultural identity.
