Summary

In 1818, Leremboure, a former mayor of San Juan de Luz, wrote an work titled "news on San Juan de Luz" to contribute to palliating the town´s woes. Local ; economy had sunk. The population had gone down and cod fishing was slowly ; extinguishing. Leremboure proposed promoting coastal fishing and turning the town ; into a military port. The town was to survive, but his ambitions were not to become true.
