Summary

Santa Ana de Bolueta is a long-established and well-known company that has a first-class archive. In this case their paybooks and internal regulations are analysed, in addition to some of the most relevant strikes between 1841 and the civil war. In times in which contracts and dismissals of workers were absolutely free their personnel expenses were directly related to the various conjunctures in which the company´s activity took place, sometimes in very concrete instances and in other occasions generally attributable to the whole of the sector in Biskaia.
