Summary

The manuscript written by Fray Hipólito Mendoza in 1919 to report on the finding of a series of decorated steles at Biokoitzazpi, between the villages of Olazagutía and Alsasua (Navarre) has been compiled and transcribed. These steles,unparalleled so far, were brought to light during clay extraction works in a quarry. Finally, 71 years later, an analysis of the information is carried out with a view to valorizing the discovery.
