Summary

In eighteenth-century Vitoria, among the craftspeople, the social and economic status and gender brought with them different forms of sociability, which were expressed through, among others (neighbourhood, guild or religious relations, meetings and gatherings), the rituals of drink and gambling. Teachers and the municipal authorities tried to curve these attitudes of confrontation with the authorities.
