Summary of the article by Bertoldi in which he observes the existence of a Basque phoneme in Pliny´s writings. According to Pliny, a kind of gallery is designated with the name "arrugia" in Spain. In the Alpine region there is the word "rugia" that explains the formation of "arrugia" as an addition of "ar" as there is no such thing as a word that begins with "r" in Basque.
