Summary

We present the manuscript Aerario de la Hidalguía de Francisco de Mendieta that is conserved in Madrid. We will give a description of this manuscript, although most of the work will involve presenting the data it provides us about the Basque language, and how it helps to undertake the study of the Basque language of Mendieta and its use as testimony of the language of the 16th century in the region of Ayala.
