Un oranger navarrais dit "le Grand Connétable": 1421-1894
Summary
Leonor of Castille, the wife of the King of Navarre, planted the pips of an orange in 1421. Later, Catherine, the wife of the king of Navarre, sent five trees to the wife of the king of France in 1499, and these happened to end up in the hands of the Condestable of Bourbon. The latter lost his possessions because of his betrayal of the King and the trees became the property of the King and were catalogued as "The Great Condestable".
