Summary

Silvio Zavala mantains that Juan de Zumárraga, Bishop of Mexico, and Vasco de Quiroga, Bishop of Michoacán, inspired themselves in Erasmus´ ideas and texts in addition to Utopia, by the English humanist Thomas Moore (1478-1535). The author asserts he found the copy of Utopia that belonged to Zumárraga.
