Summary

Based on a pamphlet from the beginning of the 18th century, El tordo vizcaíno (recently re-edited by A. Mañaricúa), the author describes what was the first formulation of the articulation of Vasconia with Spain. This articulation was within a legal and political framework with a strong religious inspiration, which was substantially different from the current parameters but that offered certain interesting lessons for the present.
