Summary

The Republic of Uruguay was born in a Constituent Assembly held between December 1828 and July 1830. Two Basques took part in a relevant manner in that Convention: Cristóbal de Echeverriarza (from San Sebastián) and Pedro Francisco de Berro (from the Ronkal valley). Both died in the same year, 1845.
