Summary

This paper analyses the making process of the global Euskadi as a subjet of historiographic discourse. After the early appearance of Oihenart´ s unitary Euskadi, we see centuries of cantabriste or provincial alienation, and only during the Romantic age and thanks to the influence of Humboldt and other foreing authors, we witness the transformation of global Euskal Herria into a subject of historiographic account
