Summary

Iron saccharose is an efficient and well tolerated therapeutic alternative in ; the treatment and prevention of anaemia caused by iron deficiency, both by itself or combined with therapies of stimulating agents of erythropoiesis (ESA), for example, with rHvEPO. Intravenous administration of iron saccharose is more efficient and rapid than the oral administration of iron in treating anaemia. With regard to public health, iron saccharose makes it possible to reduce the quantity of post-operatory blood transfusion and helps increase the level of haemoglobin. In terms of health economics, iron saccharose accelerates clinical recovery and reduces the time in hospital for the patient.
