Over the past few months, individual and institutional members have been honoured and awarded prizes.
On June 13, member Tania Arriaga Azcárate, professor at the Faculty of Social and Communication Sciences, was honored by the UPV/EHU Equality Department as part of the celebration of UniDibertsitate Eguna 2024. In this way, her career in the field of diversity was recognized.
On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Eresbil-Archivo Vasco de la M sica received the 2024 Award for Excellence from Radio San Sebasti n as a in Gipuzkoa in the field of music. During its traditional Santa Cecilia concert on 22 November, Errenteriako Musika Banda wanted to join in the tribute to Eresbil and to its director for years, the also member of Eusko Ikaskuntza Jon Bag s Erriondo.
One year ago, on the occasion of International Basque Language Day, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia presented the Lauaxeta Awards to people and entities outstanding in the defense of the language. Labayru Fundazioa received the Honorable Mention for its contribution to the research and promotion of Basque.
Finally, on December 3, member Xarles Videgain received the Baiona gold medal for his long career in support of the Basque language. Mayor Jean-Ren Etchegaray thanked him for his research and dissemination work, which includes, among other things, an atlas of the Basque language produced from thousands of interviews from town to town.
