The sociologist and sociolingist Iñaki Martínez de Luna will receive the Manuel Lekuona 2023 Prize on April 11 at a public event in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
In the ceremony, which will take place at the Ignacio Aldecoa House of Culture in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Deputy General of Lava, Ramiro González, the President of Eusko Ikaskuntza, Ana Urkiza, and the President representing the institutional jury will take part from the Barandiaran Foundation, Abel Ariznabarreta.
Doctor in Sociology, Iñaki Martínez de Luna has a long career as a researcher both in the field of studying the processes of revitalization of the Basque language and on Basque society itself. For almost thirty years he was responsible for the Lehendakaritza Sociological Prospecting Office of the Basque Government at the same time as a professor at the University of the Basque Country. Without forgetting his active militancy in numerous associations, groups and cultural entities.
