Summary

Alberto Garaizabal was the main protagonist of the adaptation of the musical society from Coruña, to the new socio-economic demands of the present century. An excellent organist, he established the Conservatory and restored and recreated the Orchestra ; he also took part in the task carried out by the propagandists of faith, but at the same time he also understood the importance of Tradeuionism and he succeeded in makin. The Orchestra feel music as part of their needs. The period of the third of his century in A Coruña is studied from the point of view of Garaizabal-s personality, making use of an abundant socio-economic documentation and reproduction of information and articles in the musical press of the town. A catalogue of compositions by the author with musical incipits of the works is also included
