Summary

Vernacular architecture tried to assimilate cement into its structure as it did before with forged iron and glass, however, the rationalist current put an end to the tradition of this type of architecture. So as to maintain vernacular architecture in its integrity, cement should be used in the least extent possible in restorations and, if unavoidable, a colour of a similar texture to the original is to be used, that is to say, the use of a vernacular cement is requested
