Summary

PCTI 2001-2004 includes scientific communication in its agenda. Here underlies a model of deficit in communication, in which communication is reduced to the unidirectional dissemination of information to a lay public which is to be educated. Beyond this model, it is possible to understand communication as a process of inter-cultural dialogue, in which what is at stake is the accommodation of a heterogeneity of cultural identities, and in which the confidence factor is all-important.
