Summary

This is a technical description of the process of restoration carried out on two pieces, one being a 16thcentury Flemish painting and a head sculpted in wood by Gregorio Fernández, from the 17thcentury. Preceded by a historical introduction and references to the techniques used in the original works, it includes data on the state of conservation, the chemical analysis of the pigments used in carrying out the painting and polychrome, together with the process of restoration, cleaning and reintegration.
