Summary

This paper reflects upon the conclusions of a study on gender stere-otypes in the area of school sports, specifically in Basque rural sports programmes. Interviews were conducted with people in charge of this area in the Basque Country and Navarre to study the initiatives and programmes related to this issue, and surveys were carried out to examine the experiences of the boys and girls that participated in these programmes during the 2008-2009 school year.
