Summary

José Antonio of Aguirre -who participated in the sessions of the History section throughout the Congress-, covers the history of the Basque Country from King Sancho the Scholar up to Henry of Navarre. This he uses to build the base of a Basque national history. This is a history that will have to be checked and written in a Basque sense, interpreting the thought of the Basque people in each era. The frontier at the Pyrinees should not limit the national perspective, as writing this history with strange criteria would be equal to denaturalising it.
