Summary

Final development of the human body dimensions takes place sequentially because each dimensions is submitted to specific biological influences. Anthropometric data collected from a sample of school boys and girls were used to apply the Preece Baines Model 1 (PB1) to study the sequential timing of the maximum velocity of growth of different parts of the human body. The Peak Height Velocity (PHV) was used as a reference parameter for locating the peak of the other dimensions. In both sexes the low extremity reaches its peak of velocity before the stature and trunk length. Moreover menarche in girls appeared after the peaks of the body dimensions.
