While organizing municipal files in Gipuzkoa, it was discovered, quite to the contrary of what was to be expected, that most of the documents were in Spanish, some in Latin and a few others were in Basque in spite of the fact that Basque was used in most of the village councils. Examples such as the one found in the town hall of Ondarribi and a translation to Basque of some Municipal Ordinances from the town hall of Eibar
