Mais où courent-ils tous ces cochons? Porcs gascons en Navarre au XVIe siècle

Registers of customs and judicial cases show a consolidated traffic of pigs through the Pyrenean border of Navarre both to cover the needs of the kingdom and for re-exportation; an analysis is made of the intense migratory herding, forage, commercialisation and smuggling activities as from the 16th and early 17th centuries (1611-1615), which give an idea of the close economic and personal relationships existing between the inhabitants on both sides of the frontier.
