The objective of this work is to explain the particulars of the monographic research that Wilhelm von Humboldt was thinking of carrying out on the Basques and the Basque language. Thanks to this research he perceives the need to always elaborate a study of the language when examining mankind and human groups. Although he never completed that monograph as such, there are many texts that Wilhelm von Humboldt handed down to us on that subject.
