Summary

Pello Esnal takes into consideration the research carried out up until the present and at the same time he proposes an method of research that leaves all others behind, from a pragmatic and discourse point of view. In the first place, he proposes certain new parameters for the comprehension of the history of Basque improvised versification up to the present day, beginning with the challenges faced and covering the current contests. Reference to the future, he mentions five aspects to analyse within such improvising activity: object, format, performance, judgement criteria and judges. Jon Sarasua makes a social and cultural description of current bersolarism, making a revision of the opportunities and challenges posed by the Society of Information. As for Andoni Egaña, he analyses the two pillars of transmission of bersolarism: on one hand, the function accomplished by bertsolarism and the function it should accomplish in normalised schooling and, on the other hand, the reality of the versification schools (bertso eskolak).
