Summary

Spanish in the Basque Country (both bilingual and monolingual) presents non-standard usages of native constructions that can be explained as a result of the indirect influence of Basque. However, the inexistence of a full structural parallelism between constructions of both languages or the very internal tendencies of Castilian Spanish stops other new usages from going beyond a mere contact locus (in a bilingual mind) to the system.
