Summary

In Armenia certain projects directed towards the dissemination of Basque culture, among which is the anthology of "Basque Popular Traditions" (1995), "Euskal esan zaharrak" (1998), "Euskera-armeniera egokitasunaren hiztegia" (1998), Bernard Etxepare, "Linguae Vasconum Primitiae" (1997, bilingual re-ed., 2001), "Euskal gramatika laburra" (2000), "Euskera-armeniera hiztegia" (2001), etc. All these translations allowed us to appreciate many coincidences between the Basque and Armenian languages. This communication includes a hundred lexic on parallelisms between Basque and Armenian, which even reach a point of mutual understanding: vasc. tegi "place" -arm. Tegi "idem", vasc. txar "wrong, bad" - arm. char "idem", vasc. aina "that" - arm. ain "idem", vasc. Tximurtu "to crease" - arm. chemert-el "idem". The use of Basque-Armenian coincidences would increase the quality of the translation of Basque literature to Armenian, and it is possible to draw up certain some methodological recommendations, to help the translators.
