Summary

This paper analyses the lexis used by Manuel Martierena del Barranco ?an upper-middle-class clergyman born in Pasajes (Gipuzkoa)? in six of his letters to hisfamily, as a means of providing an initial (and extremely partial) description of theirvocabulary and, by extension, the vocabulary presumably used in the region in the mid-18th century.
