This piece of work covers the consequences the Spanish Civil War [1936-1939] had on the town of Otxandio [in the Basque Country?s province of Bizcay]. It deals with the events during the period in which Otxandio remained under the control of the Republican loyalists, and the events when it fell into the hands of the rebels. Special attention has been devoted to the bombing the town suffered on 22 July 1936, because many inhabitants of Otxandio perished in it. The work has set out especially to cover the effect the war had on the quotidianity of its inhabitants. This has been done on the basis of the testimonies of those who lived through that period.
