Summary

This article is based on a linguistic walk along Licenciado Poza Street, between María Díaz de Haro and Máximo Aguirre streets (September 2024). These are located in the centre of the city of Bilbao, where a large number of establishments dedicated to hospitality, such as bars, cafes and restaurants, are concentrated. A methodology based on direct observation on the ground made it possible to verify the type of written texts placed in the windows and shop windows of these establishments. These show a low level of linguistic sensitivity towards the use of Basque.
