Summary

The decrease in the stock of sardines in the middle of the 20th century will be one of the most pressing concerns for the fishing community. The management results carried out by the guild reflect this critical situation, reflected in the low sales of said fish. However will be compensated economically thanks to the capture of other species. In addition to this situation, based on the results obtained, the institution –between 1955 and 1956– warns and becomes aware of the relevance of modernizing local boats; and on the other hand, of the lack of generational replacement among fishermen.
