Summary

The section notebook published on occasion of the Fourth Euskoart Conference, dedicated to the Review of the Neo-classical and Romantic art in the Basque Country, collects the motions of prestigious specialists together with interesting communications. Such contents encompass all the areas of study, in their neo-classical and romantic facets: architecture and urban planning, the figurative arts, the Drawing Schools and the RSBAP (Real Sociedad Bascongada de Amigos del País - the Royal Basque Society of Friends of the Country). This was founded in 1763 and is precisely the promoter and driving force of these Schools. This Notebook also shows that the Basque Country is open to the Modernity with the heritage of the RSBAP, with a cultural group supported by a powerful middle class, and aristocratic and liberal minds. Furthermore, in the different areas of study, both the neo-classical and the romantic movements are defined. To conclude, a valuable bibliography is attached.
